Facebook says that community on its social media network reached a monthly active user base of 1.71 billion as at June 30, this year.
According to information released in the company’s financial statement for the second quarter of 2016, Facebook daily active users were 1.13 billion on average for June 2016, an increase of 17% year-over-year.
Other highlights show that mobile daily users were 1.03 billion on average for June 2016, an increase of 22% year-over-year. Mobile monthly active users were 1.57 billion, an increase of 20% year-over-year.
Announcing the release of the Quarter’s results on the platform, Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook, says “We just shared our quarterly results and gave an update on our community’s progress to connect the world. Our community now has 1.7 billion people. We hit milestones of 1 billion people on Messenger and 500 million on Instagram each month. We successfully flew Aquila — our solar-powered plane designed to beam Internet to remote parts of the world.”
