Engineer Aliyu Aziz, Director General/ CEO, National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) and leaders in the Nigerian media industry will converge in Lagos today for the second day of Technology Times Outlook 2017, #TTOutlook17, in Lagos.

Technology Times Outlook 2017, #TTOutlook17, with theme, “Identity Management: Unlocking Possibilities for Knowledge-Driven Nigeria” opened Thursday at The MUSON Centre in Lagos to review the central and pivotal role that identity management will play in building a SMART Nigeria and pursuit of a knowledge-driven economy under the National Broadband Plan.

Aziz, the Director General /CEO of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), shall be delivering the Technology Times Outlook 2017 Thought Leadership Keynote Presentation, “National Identity Management: Unlocking Possibilities for Knowledge-Driven Nigeria.”

At Day Two of #TTOutlook17, Babatunde Afolayan, Senior Research Analyst, Systems and Infrastructure Services, IDC MEA, will be joined by Ikenna Ikeme, Director, Regulatory and Corporate Social Responsibility, Etisalat Nigeria on the National Identity Management track to examine the key summit theme.

At #TTOutlook17, leaders in the Nigerian media industry will also gather today and examine the changing face of the industry landscape with the growth in Internet usage and penetration across the country.

The keynote presentations and panel discussions will share key industry operators’ perspectives that point the compass in the direction that the tech ecosystem will shape and define the overall Nigerian economy in the new year and beyond.

At #TTOutlook17, leaders in the Nigerian media industry will also gather today and examine the changing face of the industry landscape with the growth in Internet usage and penetration across the country.

On the panel on “Nigerian Media in A Digital Age”, an impressive line-up of key leaders and opinion shapers that will examine the subject include Dr Reuben Abati, a respected public affairs commentator and ex-Special Adviser, Media and Publicity and as Official Spokesperson to President Goodluck Jonathan of Nigeria and Mr Steve Ayorinde, the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Strategy at the Lagos State Government in Nigeria.

The panel will also feature Mr Debo Adesina, the Editor-in-Chief of The Guardian, the most influential group of newspapers in Nigeria; Simon Kolawole, Founder/CEO, Cable Newspaper Ltd, owners of the fast-rising Internet newspaper, TheCable alongside Ade Atobatele, Chief Gboza at Gboza Gbosa Technology Ltd and Mr Taiwo Obe, Founder and Director of the Journalism Clinic.

The Summit will wrap up today with a cocktail announcing the Technology Times Person of The Year 2016, honouring the tech leader that has made the most enduring contributions to the Nigerian ICT industry in the previous year.

Keynote presentations shall share a key industry operator’s perspective on the strategies to unlock potential of local content and indigenous participation in building a modern and knowledge-drive economy in Nigeria.

Attendees at #TTOutlook17 will also draw insights on key policy, regulatory and market trends that shall define and shape the Nigerian ICT industry in 2017 and beyond.
