Innovative technologies in smartphones of today have made it possible for users to do so many things, including checking their health and fitness status.

A lot of high-end phones, especially of Android smartphones now sport applications that help users do few health and fitness checks, and possibly reduce the number of times they visit hospitals for health check-ups.
With Google Fit, you can log weight, heart rate, steps and activity time automatically, and if you have the time to tell Google exactly what you’re up to, you can choose from a long list of activities.
If you are using an Android smartphone and would like to have such apps, there are quite a number to choose from. Here are five of them to help you track your health and fitness.

1.Instant Heart Rate: This gives you accurate heart rates when you need them so as to reach your fitness goals. There are other heart rate monitoring apps out there that track through a camera system but Instant Heart Rate has some features that sets it apart.

Instant Heart Rate’s tracking system gives you a timeline of your heart rate so you can track whether you’ve been hitting your cardio or fat-burning goals. You can also track your resting heart rate to look at the unhealthy stress put on your heart under normal conditions.

2.BMI Calculator: This app is for measuring of body fat. For those who wish to know the result of their effort in reducing body fat, this is the app for you. It is really simple, which sets it apart from other body fat measuring apps. All you need to do is plug in your height and weight and it will give you a percentage estimate of your body fat.

Once the app has calculated your body fat it will give you a recommendation about your exercise regimen. It helps by telling you the category to place your body fat.

3. 7 minute Workout: Just as the name implies, this app shows you the steps to complete a seven-minute workout routine that can aid weight loss and strengthen muscles.

4.Google Fit: This is Google’s own health and fitness app which is integrated with Android and Android Wear.

With Google Fit, you can log weight, heart rate, steps and activity time automatically, and if you have the time to tell Google exactly what you’re up to, you can choose from a long list of activities. You can set simple daily goals as well and get an alert when you’ve reached them.

5.Menstrual and Ovulation Calendar: This app is basically for women who want to keep track of their menstrual cycle. It provides all you need as a tool to record, monitor your own menstrual cycle, especially useful for women wishing to conceive, or birth-control, contraception. Period and Ovulation Calendar is the app for every lady as it gives you the freedom to worry less and about your period coming at sudden times. It helps keep track of the total menstrual cycle.
