The 2017 edition of Social Media Week (SMW) Lagos has been scheduled to hold February 27 to March 3 at the Landmark Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos.
Social Media Week is a week-long annual conference that brings together thought leaders, key stakeholders and the public to explore how social media impacts industry, government, civil society and culture.
This year’s SMW Lagos with the theme “The new Language of Technology: The Future of Communication in Africa,” is expected to explore how technology is creating a “new language” and way of communicating and what this means for the future of communication in Africa.
The conference programming and content will look at how this “new language,” through online video, messaging apps, voice interfaces, and the like allows us to share our stories, share our competencies and increase our efficiencies and ultimately, enabling us to take our collective learning and apply them locally for the betterment of our communities and the continent at large.
Speakers include Oreoluwa Somolu Lesi, Founder & Executive Director, Women’s Technology Empowerment Centre (W.TEC), Gbenga Sesan, Executive Director, Paradigm Initiative Nigeria, Collins Onuegbu, Founder, Signal Alliance, among others.
