Etisalat Nigeria and Vodacom have inked a deal to explore stakes in the delivery of enterprise solutions to Nigeria’s big businesses.
The two technology companies announced in Lagos Tuesday that large corporates in Nigeria will now have access to high performance, easy to manage mobile communication solutions for their businesses.
Telecommunication service provider,Vodacom and mobile phone operator, Etisalat Nigeria, say that the tie will let them improve productivity and response time for corporate, “especially those businesses with large number of staff on the move.”
Guy Clarke, Managing Director, Vodacom Business Nigeria, says that “with this partnership, Vodacom is now well-placed to offer a fuller package of custom-made enterprise class mobile services to businesses in Nigeria through its Enterprise Mobile Voice Solution.’’
Clarke told attendees at the symbolic signing of the contract documents by the two technology companies that their partnership will deliver superior telecoms services to Nigerian businesses.
With customers in 43 sub-Saharan African markets, Vodacom Business offers business communications services to local, regional and multinational corporations operating across the continent and connects over 1200 of the largest and leading corporations, Clarke says.
Following the alliance, Vodacom and Etisalat customers will be provided with a single billing platform to address the trouble of dealing with multiple communications service providers, the companies say.
Etisalat will also provide point-to-point and point to multi-point connectivity solutions to its customers, thereby offering them a one-stop shopping experience, the mobile phone company says.
Commenting on the partnership, Matthew Willsher Chief Executive Officer of Etisalat Nigeria, adds that, “in the fast-paced telecommunication market of today, the successful companies will be those who build the right strategic partnerships to accelerate innovation, growth and offer customers more value for their money.’’

CEO of the mobile phone company says that, “Etisalat Nigeria has remarkably grown its business in the enterprise space, providing fast and stable fixed Internet services, capacity leasing services, machine-to-machine and cloud services, mobile voice and data solutions to multinational corporations and major Nigerian corporates.”
According to him, Etisalat Nigeria has become a major industry player with a growing subscriber base of over 23 million, “making it a successful number four GSM operator in a highly-competitive Nigeria telecoms market.”
Etisalat Nigeria is one of the 19 operations of the Etisalat Group spanning Africa, Middle East and Asia serving over 182 million subscribers.
