Theodore Orji, the Governor of Abia State, has launched the new 64-page International e-Passport in the state.
While performing the ceremony at Nigerian Immigration Services office, Umuahia, the Governor congratulated the Federal Government and the Immigration Service for the innovation.
According to him, the old 32-page International Passport was not accommodative of frequent travelers who had to come for passports now and again.
The new 64 page passport with security features to track anybody, “is accommodative”, Governor said with a charge to the Nigerian Immigration Service to continue with their good job especially controlling the movement of people into the country.
Earlier, the State Comptroller of Nigerian Immigration Service, Abia State Command, Mrs. Anthonia Opara said the new 32-page International Passport is not yet phased out as it is still in use but the new passport was introduced to check theft and accommodate frequent travelers.
