Taiwanese technology company, Acer will begin pre-installing Microsoft services and apps on its portfolio of Android smartphones and tablets.
This is made possible following the announcement of a global partnership with Microsoft Corporation to bring Microsoft mobile productivity service to more consumers.
Specifically, customers will benefit from the productivity tools including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, OneDrive and Skype on select Android smartphones and tablets from Acer.
ST Liew, president of Acer Smart Products Business Group says that “by integrating the Microsoft software suite, Acer customers will enjoy productivity on-the-go along with the familiar computing experience on their smartphones and tablets.”
Commenting on the deal, Nick Psyhogeos, president of Microsoft Technology Licensing, says that the deal means that in addition to the Android features that come with Acer devices, it is also going to be kitted with Microsoft office suits for consumers to enjoy enhanced productivity.
