Taiwanese technology company, Acer says the newest member of its ultra-slim S series notebooks family, Aspire S 13, is made for design-conscious users.

While unveiling the S 13 laptop at the next@acer press event at 4 World Trade Center in New York, Acer says the device is a thin and powerful Windows 10 notebook with an optional 54 Wh 3-cell Li-ion battery that lasts up to 13 hours, enabling users to get the most out of their machine every day.

The technology company stated that the Aspire S 13 which runs Windows 10 with the option of a 10-point touch display, is powered by sixth Generation Intel Core processors comes with up to 8 GB of LPDDR3 system memory, not only enabling fast performance and enhanced graphics, but also low power consumption.

The Acer laptop is embedded with wired connectivity that comes in the form of a USB 3.1 Type-C reversible port which supports ultra-fast transfer of data (up to 5Gbps) and also a USB 3.0 port which supports power-off charging for mobile devices, even when the Aspire S 13 is switched off.

Aspire S 13 enables users to use a wireless networking standard of 802.11ac to its maximum effect with 2 x 2 Multi-User MIMO which provides up to three times faster performance over single-user MIMO and also, the precision touchpad enables an accurate, smooth and responsive navigation experience with support for Windows 10 precision touchpad gestures.

James Lin, General Manager, Consumer Notebooks, IT Products Business at Acer says that “the Aspire S 13’s powerful components come together to strike a perfect balance in size, weight and performance, demonstrating the equilibrium between form and function”, adding that “currently, there is no other branded device on the market that can offer such design excellence at this desirable price.”

Peter Han, vice president worldwide OEM Marketing, Microsoft Corp, also says that, “Acer’s portfolio offers something for everyone, with device options to fit customers’ needs. The ultra-slim Aspire S 13 brings Windows 10 to life with the security, productivity and manageability only Windows can deliver.”

Acer’s new S 13 notebook features full HD touch-screen display with wide-viewing angle IPS technology which brings immersive experiences for both movies and presentations and also features Acer BluelightShield which can be enabled to reduce the blue-light emission from the LED backlit module. In low light, the two-stage adjustable backlit keyboard provides more options to suit the circumstances: first stage turns on the backlit keyboard; the second stage turns on the lighting to full luminance.

Another feature of the new notebook as stated by Acer is the Acer TrueHarmony and Dolby Audio which lets this light-in-weight unit really punch above its category when it comes to audio performance with cinematic surround sound. The newest software user interface also enhances the consumer experience with a custom profile and intelligent audio and visual features, the company added.

According to Acer, Aspire S 13 feature Windows 10 Skype for Business Certification which ensures people can communicate with crisp and lag-free quality, and also allows for clearer, higher quality audio and a great Cortana experience.
