The Adamawa State Government is taking a major leap in its digital transformation agenda with the approval of Phase One of the Adamawa State Digital Academy Project valued at ₦926 million.
The initiative, approved at the 20th Executive Council Meeting presided over by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri at the Government House in Yola, marks a significant milestone in the state’s efforts to modernise public infrastructure and accelerate digital skills development, the government says in a statement.
Dr. Hammajam Ahmed Adamu, Special Adviser to the Governor on ICTs, E-Governance, and Policy, says the project will revive the inactive digital academy facility along Fufore Road in Yola South Local Government Area.

“This is not just about buildings, it’s about equipping our youth with 21st-century skills in coding, cybersecurity, AI, and digital entrepreneurship,” the governor’s aide adds.
“The project includes full renovation of the long-idle academy facility along Fufore Road in Yola South Local Government Area, as well as the integration of renewable energy systems and high-speed broadband connectivity,” Dr. Hammajam explains.
According to him, the Adamawa Digital Academy, which was established under Governor Fintiri’s directive in November 2023 in partnership with the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), is now set for full activation.
“This is not just about buildings, it’s about equipping our youth with 21st-century skills in coding, cybersecurity, AI, and digital entrepreneurship,” the governor’s aide adds.
He says the revived academy will serve as a cornerstone of the state’s digital economy strategy and align with ongoing reforms under the State Action on Business Enabling Reforms (SABER) programme aimed at improving governance and fostering innovation across Adamawa State.
