
Afrideo, an Internet-based video on demand (VOD) news and entertainment service for Africa’s content, has been launched.
With headquarters in Lagos, Afrideo is poised to become the world’s capital destination for streaming news and entertainment emanating online from across Africa, according to promoters of the business.
Obasi Oluchukwu, founder of the company says “Afrideo is out to deliver an unmatched online viewing experience never seen before on any platform serving Africa.”
According to him, “the platform is inspired by its goal to be the place online to see the true picture of what is happening in Africa.”
The new streaming service plans to make sure African content are more visible and relevant on web, helping viewers find relevant local content from the continent. Its content offerings includes news, movies, comedy, TV shows and music.
Contents on the platform are made available to viewers for free.
