Airtel Nigeria is offering its subscribers free life and hospital cash insurance policy via their mobile phones.
According to Airtel, the insurance cover is opened to both pre-paid (based on cumulative recharge for the month) and post-paid (based on monthly usage) subscribers aged 18-65 years old.
It covers two events: Death and Hospitalisation. The subscriber qualifies for a cash pay-out in event of death or hospitalisation depending on the value of airtime recharged each month. A N1,000 monthly recharge entitles a subscriber to N100,000 live cover and N10,000 hospital cash cover.
A monthly recharge of N5,000 entitles a subscriber to N250,000 live cover and N25,000 hospital cash cover. A subscriber gets N500,000 life cover and N50,000 hospital cash cover for a N10,000 monthly recharge, according to the phone company.
According to the mobile phone company, if you are an Airtel subscriber and you are interested in the offer, dial *259# and follow menu to register for free. You will receive confirmation message.
“You will also receive one SMS message each month informing you of how much cover you are entitled to for that month. You must spend a minimum of 3 consecutive days in a hospital in order to qualify for hospital cash. This is subject to maximum of 4 hospitalisations per year”, according to Airtel.
