Akwa Ibom trains 3000 youths on ICT

Akwa Ibom State government has flagged-off the training of 3000 Akwa Ibom youths on Information and Communication Technology.

The flag-off ceremony for the ICT training was performed by the Deputy Governor, Mr. Moses Ekpo at the Onyeama Ogechukwu Hall in Akwa Ibom State.

According to a media release by the State Government, the training, which will take place for one month, is part of the Akwa Ibom Employment And Enterprise Scheme (AKEES).

According to the state government, the skill acquisition scheme underscores Governor Udom Emmanuel’s commitment to achieving a technology driven economy and calls on Akwa Ibom youth to register for the training.

Courses offered include Computer Appreciation Skills; Computer Engineering; Software Installation And Setup; Computer Networking – Wired And Wireless; Vsat Installation; Web Development; and Andriod Programming.

So far, 1,668 people have registered for the training, according to the state government.
