The Anambra State Government, through its Solution Innovation District (SID), says it is nurturing the next generation of tech innovators by equipping them with digital skills.
The ongoing SID Teens Digital Bootcamp, now in its third edition, is providing hundreds of young people across the state with essential digital skills, according to the Anambra State government.
The bootcamp, the government says, which is completely free of charge, is held across four locations in Anambra: Awka, Nkpor, Enugu Ukwu, and Igboukwu. Participants are being taught a variety of digital skills, including web development, graphic design, and digital innovation.
The initiative is part of Governor Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s vision for a digitally driven Anambra State, according to Chinwe Okoli, the Governor’s Special Adviser on Innovation and Business, who says that, “we are grooming the next generation of Tech Innovators through SID Teens Digital Bootcamp.”
The bootcamp aims to “groom the next generation of tech innovators—the future tech leaders of Anambra State” and equip the state’s youth with the skills needed to thrive in the digital age.
The Solution Innovation District (SID) is a government-backed initiative aimed at fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in Anambra State. Established in March 2023, SID has been instrumental in promoting digital literacy and creating a conducive environment for tech startups. The SID Teens Digital Bootcamp is a key component of the district’s efforts to empower young people, according to the state government.
