APC takes down website hit by hacking attack
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has taken down its official website after it was hit by hacking attacks, the ruling party says.
The cyber attack on the nation’s ruling party’s official website is coming ahead of Nigeria’s General 2019 Elections starting February 16, this year.
As at this morning, the APC’s website is still screened off from public
view and in its place is a message: “Our website is under maintenance. Please
check back shortly.”
Lanre Issa-Onilu, National Publicity Secretary of APC had earlier announced that the party official website suffered hacking attack in which “unauthorised content” was posted on the online platform.
The APC spokesman last week took to Twitter to announce the attack in a post on the popular social media platform.
“Our attention has just been drawn to the fact that the APC’s official website, http://APC.com.ng has been hacked with unauthorised content posted on it. I have asked that the site be taken down. Steps underway to clean it up. We won’t allow them succeed in their evil plots”, the party’s spokesman says.
The party did not disclose the nature of the unauthorised content posted on its website by the unidentified hackers.
