Apple has announced that its artificial intelligence (AI) system, Apple Intelligence, is now available in eight new languages and nearly all global regions.

The update, part of iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4, and macOS Sequoia 15.4, marks Apple’s broadest expansion of AI features since their debut in late 2024.
Starting today, users can access Apple Intelligence in French, German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese (Simplified), as well as localized English versions for Singapore and India. European Union (EU) residents now have full access.
The Vision Pro headset also gains initial AI capabilities in U.S. English, including tools to rewrite text, generate images, and create custom emojis.

“Now, Vision Pro users can proofread, rewrite, and summarize text using Writing Tools; compose text from scratch using ChatGPT in Writing Tools; explore new ways to express themselves visually with Image Playground; create the perfect emoji for any conversation with Genmoji; and much more,” Apple says in a statement.
To protect users’ privacy, Apply says the system processes most data directly on devices, with more complex tasks handled by its “Private Cloud Compute” servers, which delete information after processing. The setup, first detailed at Apple’s 2024 developers conference, aims to address concerns about AI and user privacy.
Apple’s initial exclusion of EU users last year was linked to the bloc’s Digital Markets Act (DMA), which requires tech giants to allow third-party app stores and payment systems.
Apple Intelligence, unveiled in June 2024, arrived later than rivals like Google’s Gemini and Microsoft’s Copilot. With the release of iOS 18.1, Apple intelligence brought features like Writing Tools and a redesigned Siri. Later updates have expanded its capabilities and language support.
The update also introduces Priority Notifications, designed to help users manage time-sensitive communications more effectively. Mac users can now create memory movies by simply typing a description, and a new Sketch style in Image Playground allows for the creation of detailed academic sketches.
