Two U.S. companies, Apple and Nike, have announced their collaborative smart watch innovation, AppleWatchNike+, which was launched over the weekend.
AppleWatchNike+ features watchOS 3, a dual-core processor, a brighter display, a water resistance rating of 50 meters, and built-in GPS, which enables tracking of pace, distance, and route without the need for a connected iPhone, the companies said in a joint statement.
Apple Watch Nike+ also features exclusive Nike Sport Bands and unique watch faces inspired by Nike’s iconic style that can be easily personalized with useful apps like Activity Rings, Heart Rate, Stopwatch and Weather helping runners stay informed at a glance.

Apple says the AppleWatchNike+ features the brightest display Apple has ever made and this makes metrics easy to read. Like all Apple Watch Series 2 models, AppleWatchNike+ features built-in GPS to track users’ pace, distance, and route and Apple says users don’t have to be with their iPhone to enjoy this features.
The Nike+ Run Club app is integrated into Apple Watch Nike+ and offers daily motivation through smart run reminders, challenges from friends and alerts informing when the weather is right to get outside. Raining data, including pace, distance and heart rate are also available at a glance, and through shared run summaries. The app also promotes friendly competition, allowing users to send fist bumps to each other, right from the wrist, Apple says.
Apple says the AppleWatchNike+ will be available in two different aluminum case sizes of 38 mm which costs $369 and 42 mm which costs $399 from Apple.com, Nike.com, Apple Stores, select Nike retail stores and select Apple Authorized Resellers. The Smart watch pairs with four exclusive Nike Sport Band color combinations including Black/Volt, Black/Cool Gray, Flat Silver/White and Flat Silver/Volt.
