When it comes to top brands in the mobile ecosystem, Wiko may not ring a bell in the mind of many.

But smartphone users can attest to Wiko’s quality smartphones that have come to give competing brands a run for their money for quality features and affordability.

Wiko, a French device maker in recent times  has pushed a range of products that have competed very well in the market over the last couple of years.

Wiko products entered the Nigerian market not quite long and its acceptance has grown.

Now people associated with Wiko and those that wish to be associated with it have something to be excited about as the company unveiled its latest product- the Wiko Fever Special Edition at the just-concluded GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.

The Wiko Fever Special Edition is an upgrade of the Wiko Fever 4G that was launched last year by the company.

The Fever is a beautifully designed phone with an attention grabbing cover and fascinating features.

The Wiko Fever Special Edition smartphones features fingerprint technology, at a very attractive price and with several finishes, from soft touch to metallic.

Its body has a flourescent layer that radiates in the dark, a very audacious design experiment at that. The exterior design also includes a metal design that is pleasing to the eye.

Specs-wise, the Fever Special Edition is almost identical to its sibling, Fever 4G. It comes with a attractive solid mid-range platform featuring a 5.2-inch, 1080p, IPS, 2.5D display, an octa-core Mediatek MT6753 SoC and a pretty decent 13MP plus 5MP camera setup, with a promise for autofocus speeds as low as 0.2 seconds.

The major hardware upgrade the Fever Special Edition comes with is that it has 3GB of RAM, whereas the basic one has both a 2GB and 3GB options and storage has been improved up to 32GB. An extra 100 mAh has also been added to the battery and now it’s at around 3000 mAh.

A totally overhauled exterior and the user replaceable backs are about the real deal which the Special Editions brings.

The phone comes with quite a wide variety of designs which includes a sleek plastic finish with a single pattern and a striped dual-colour design made of wood materials or cloth textures.

Wiko say they are giving buyers of the Fever Special Edition opportunity to easily pick up two or more extra back to match every attire and occasion.
