The Association of Telecommunications Companies of Nigeria (ATCON), has reelected Lanre Ajayi to manage the affairs of the frontline telecoms industry association for another term.
Ajayi’s re-election was the highlight of the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and National Executive Council (NEC) of ATCON held at the Protea Hotel, GRA Ikeja, Lagos.
According to ATCON, Ajayi was re–elected for a second term in office due to his achievement during his first term.
The event had in attendance key industry players and two of Ajayi’s predecessors, Emmanuel Ekuwem, CEO of Teledom International and Titi Omo-Ettu, CEO of Telecom Answers and Associates. The past Presidents commended Ajayi and his Executive Committee for their good performance.
Ajayi pledged to upscale the Association’s resolve to work with Government and the regulator to remove barriers to investment in the Nigerian telecoms industry.
ATCON holds its NEC elections every two years and the constitution of the Association allows a maximum of three terms for which a NEC member may be re-elected on a particular post.
