Engr. Aliyu A. Aziz, an ex-insider and former Director of IT/ Identity Database National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) is within radar to named the next chief executive of the public sector ID services organisation of Nigeria.
Technology Times can confirm that barring any last minute change, Engr Aziz will be announced this week to succeed Barrister Chris E. Onyemenam, the outgoing Director-General/CEO of NIMC.
Engr Aziz, who retired in November last year as Director IT/Identity Database at NIMC, is being recalled from retirement to lead the public sector Nigerian ID services provider, and may have been appointed by President Muhammadu Buahari for the top job, people conversant with developments at the nation’s seat of power in Abuja told Technology Times on condition of anonymity “because the Villa (the President’s office) is yet to make the announcement.”
