MTN Nigeria has launched a BBM-only data plan for smartphone users supporting Android, iOS, the Nokia X series and even the BlackBerry 10. The plans do not work on legacy BlackBerry devices though.

BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) is the Internet-based instant messaging and video telephony application that allows messaging and voice calls between BlackBerry, iOS and Android users.

MTN already offers unlimited BBM on their BlackBerry 10 plans and also offer unlimited BBM on their regular plans, but the new plans will suit those who want just BBM and nothing else on a budget.

The new BBM specific plans on MTN are as follows:

Plans     Inclusive Data       Bundle  Validity          Cost     Keyword to 21600
BBM Daily     5MB 1 Day          N25       BBMD
BBM Weekly     25MB 7 Days          N100       BBMW
BBM Monthly     100MB 30 Days          N350       BBMM
