Mrs Bella Disu, Executive Vice Chairman of Globacom, Second National Operator and owners of Glo Mobile, has taken over as Chairman of construction giant, Abumet Nigeria Limited.
Bella, daughter of Dr Mike Adenuga Jnr, Globacom Chairman and founder of the Nigeria telecoms group, took over the chairman’s position at the construction company on January 1, this year.
The younger Adenuga takes over from Alhaji Dr. Bamanga Tukur at Abumet, a full-service aluminium and glass solutions provider with 30 years of experience delivering its aluminium and glass products and services within the Nigerian building construction sector.

“I am deeply honored at the responsibility to lead this great company to new frontiers”, the Globacom executive vice chairman says in a LinkedIn post.
According to her, “Taking up this baton is easier because of the foundation laid by our outgoing board chair, Alhaji Dr. Bamanga Tukur CON. I look forward to a successful and impactful tenure with the executive management and my fellow directors.”
In January 2019, Adenuga promoted Bella to become the telecoms group’s executive vice chairman after serving as Group Executive Director at Globacom, a position she has held since June 2004.
Bella, the heiress at Globacom has made a remarkable difference in taking a huge workload off the shoulders of his father, who is famed for his laser-sharp focus on keeping a close watch on running his businesses, while also functioning as the new face of Nigeria’s SNO, a company insider told Technology Times on condition of anonymity.
Glo Mobile, the fully owned mobile business unit of Globacom has grown to become the telecoms industry’s third player with over 55 million active phone subscriber lines in competition with MTN Nigeria, Airtel Nigeria and 9 Mobile.
The Globacom heiress new position adds to her CEO of Cobblestone Properties & Estate; Director, Mike Adenuga Centre and Non-Executive Director, Julius Berger Nigeria.
