The Borno State Information and Communication Technology Development Agency (BICTDA) said this following its recently-concluded digital training workshop.
BICTDA said that the five-day workshop was organised by the agency in collaboration with iMMAP to exclusively train its staff and team members in digital skills and enhance the agency’s mission to drive technological advancement across Borno State.

“This initiative seeks to bolster digital literacy and capacity-building, focusing on strengthening institutional capacity, fostering innovative tech-driven solutions, and promoting collaborative partnerships,” according to BICTDA.

Engineer Mohammed Kabir Wanori, Executive Secretary, BICTDA, delivered a keynote presentation on the importance of digital literacy at the event that featured an in-depth session on digital skills enhancement, panel discussions on leveraging technology for sustainable development, group work, and presentations by participants.
Attendees included board members, senior special assistants, team members, representatives from Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), and the iMMAP team.
At the end of the five-day programme, Wanori expressed appreciation to the iMMAP team, stating that BICTDA was open to more of such initiatives.
In line with its commitment to driving digital transformation across the state, BICTDA also organised a two-day Experience Sharing workshop for managers and instructors from commissioned ICT centres in the state’s local government areas, according to the agency.
Led by Engr Wanori, the workshop brought together managers and instructors from centres in Mafa, Magumeri, Nganzai, Bayo, Damasak and Gubio.
“This session is about sharing ideas. The presenters will make their presentations and you will share your experience of what you learnt,” Wanori stated, adding that the knowledge gained would be transferred by the managers and instructors to their respective centres.
The two-day programme, according to BICTDA, covered specialised training sessions, awards and prizes.
The Damasak Centre, led by its technical manager, won first place and received a laptop and a gadget worth ₦100,000. Gubio Centre won second place with a gadget and a prize of ₦50,000, while the technical manager of Magumeri Centre received ₦50,000 for being the most dedicated manager.
In his closing address, Engr. Wanori encouraged all centres to take a cue from the centres that won, to set a standard of excellence in their service delivery. This, the executive secretary, emphasised, will contribute to Governor Zulum’s vision of making Borno State a digital hub in the region.
