Olusegun Obasanjo, former President of Nigeria and ex-Chairperson of the African Union, has joined the Senior Advisory Board of AB Charity Foundation, the technology-driven philanthropic body building global infrastructure for blockchain-enabled giving.

The appointment, announced by the Dublin-based AB Charity Foundation (AB Foundation X AB Blockchain), adds Obasanjo to a roster of 10 globally influential leaders and policy experts now steering the Foundation’s strategic initiatives. Their addition brings the Board’s reach to five continents, spanning close to 30 former and current heads of state and leading global governance professionals.

Obasanjo’s inclusion reinforces the Foundation’s objective to merge governance expertise with advanced technologies to foster what it calls a “trusted, inclusive, and sustainable global philanthropy ecosystem.”

The Foundation says it is expanding its influence in global philanthropy by integrating blockchain, AI, and decentralised technologies, with partnerships targeting sectors such as education, healthcare, environmental protection, and humanitarian relief.
