Blockchain foundation taps Nigeria’s former President, Obasanjo

The appointment, announced by the Dublin-based AB Charity Foundation (AB Foundation X AB Blockchain), adds Obasanjo to a roster of 10 globally influential leaders and policy experts now steering the Foundation’s strategic initiatives. Their addition brings the Board’s reach to five continents, spanning close to 30 former and current heads of state and leading global governance professionals.
Obasanjo’s inclusion reinforces the Foundation’s objective to merge governance expertise with advanced technologies to foster what it calls a “trusted, inclusive, and sustainable global philanthropy ecosystem.”

Obasanjo’s inclusion reinforces the Foundation’s objective to merge governance expertise with advanced technologies to foster what it calls a “trusted, inclusive, and sustainable global philanthropy ecosystem.”

The Foundation says it is expanding its influence in global philanthropy by integrating blockchain, AI, and decentralised technologies, with partnerships targeting sectors such as education, healthcare, environmental protection, and humanitarian relief.
The 10 new members of the Senior Advisory Board are:
Olusegun Obasanjo – Former President of Nigeria and ex-Chairperson of the African Union, recognised for championing economic reforms and regional cooperation across Africa.
Victor Yushchenko – Former President of Ukraine, reformist economist instrumental in Ukraine’s democratic transition.
Thomas Axworthy – Canadian public policy expert, former Secretary to the Prime Minister of Canada.
Dzhoomart Otorbaev – Former Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, noted economist and reform advocate.
Denzil Douglas – Former Prime Minister and current Foreign Minister of Saint Kitts and Nevis.
Joanna Nurse – Senior World Health Organization expert in global health policy.
Maha Ibrahim Mohamed Morsy – Education and welfare advocate in Egypt, wife of former Prime Minister Essam Sharaf.
Kateryna Yushchenko – Former First Lady of Ukraine, champion of healthcare and cultural diplomacy.
Antonina Stoyanova – Legal expert and diplomat, former First Lady of Bulgaria and United Nations official.
Milena Dobronic – Education and social services advocate in Bolivia, spouse of former President Jorge Quiroga.
The Foundation says its expanding advisory network forms a cross-sectoral “Global Philanthropy Strategy Engine,” integrating policy, governance, and advanced technologies to drive “verifiable acts of goodwill.”
Registered as an international NGO in Ireland, AB Charity Foundation operates under EU legal status with technical backing from AB DAO. The Foundation’s mission centres on creating scalable philanthropic infrastructure powered by decentralised technology.
