The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) says it is grappling with a significant backlog of registration requests caused by the recent maintenance of its Companies Registration Portal (CRP).
The CAC had conducted what it describes as “scheduled system maintenance” on its portal from December 25 to 30, 2024, to improve service performance. While the maintenance, access to services on the portal was limited.
The CAC announced the successful completion of the scheduled system maintenance was carried out to optimise the portal’s performance. However, the exercise has led to delays, leaving many customers frustrated, according to the agency.
“A huge backlog was created,” the CAC statement states, “and the Commission is working assiduously to clear it as well as address all associated challenges currently being experienced by customers.”
The CAC assures the public that its technical team and approving officers are working to resolve the situation.
The Commission expressed gratitude for the public’s patience and reaffirmed its commitment to improved service delivery. “Our dedicated technical team and approving officers are working tirelessly to offer better and improved services.”
Despite the assurances, the backlog has raised concerns about the portal’s efficiency and the Commission’s ability to meet growing demands.
The CAC urged customers to remain confident in its efforts, promising prompt and seamless service once the backlog is cleared.
