The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has announced plans to clean up its registry by removing the names of companies that have been inactive for the past 10 years.

According to CAC, this action is based on the powers granted to the CAC under Section 692 (3) (4) of the Companies and Allied Matters Act No. 3 of 2020, the government agency says.

“A full list is published on the Commission’s website www.cac.gov.ng. These companies are given a period of 90 days from the date of this publication to file all outstanding Annual Returns and send email of this fact to activation@cac.gov.ng. so as to remove their names from the list,” CAC says in a statement

CAC says it has identified numerous companies that have not filed their Annual Returns for a decade, indicating they are no longer operational. The list of these companies was made available on the CAC’s website.
