Chinese device maker, Tecno Mobile says its new entrant tablet computer WinPad 10 tablet will help expand its footprint in Nigeria’s booming mobile market.
The WinPad 10 tablet is the outcome of collaboration among Tecno, Intel and Microsoft to offer mobile professionals unique platform for watching video and browsing experience, the companies said at the official media launch held Thursday in Lagos.
WinPad 10 tablet opens a new vista for users of Microsoft’s Windows operating systems, Tecno says at Westown Hotel, venue of the launch, which attracted the media and industry stakeholders.

‘’With new windows operating system and Intel’s very fast atom processor. We are offering those whose lives are mobile a smart bouquet of efficiency”, Chidi Okonkwo, Vice General Manager, Tecno Mobile Nigeria, told attendees at the launch.
According to Tecno, “With a full charge, the user can surf the web, run different applications, watch movies and even play games at the same time.’’
Tecno says the device is a cross between the tablet and laptop is now available for sales across the country in its retail outlets and exclusively Jumia, for those who want to purchase online.
‘’The Tecno WinPad 10 is more than a laptop, more productive than a tablet and more affordable than an ultrabook. It has dual boom speakers with amazing surround stereo sound which offers high quality sound and brings a new experience of sound perception to its users, thus offering more than a triple package.’’
Tecno WinPad10 is a 10.1 inch HD screen device that comes with a 5.0MP back camera and 2.0 MP and has a virtual quality and smooth operating experience on its preloaded Windows 8.1 OS, while running on Intel Atom Processor Z3735F, Quad core 1.83GHz, 32GB ROM AND 2GB RAM.
The broader ROM and RAM also offer space to users to store and run apps at the same time, Tecno says.

On her part, Womiloju Olabanji, Consumer Manager, Intel Corporation Nigeria, describes WinPad 10 as an efficient device, adding that its Intel processor offer users a brilliant fast experience.
According to the Intel exec, “the Atom processor Z3735F, Quad core 1.83GHz, is a fast and an efficient quad core. Actually the 4 cores it operates on, is why the WinPad 10 would be very efficient for multi-tasking in comparison to dual core processor. The WinPad 10, with this processor would be highly beneficial to those whose businesses involve multi-tasking.’’
Tecno has in the past successfully launched smart phones into the Nigeria market, releasing its first tablet running on the android operating system into the market in 2013. The new Win Pad 10 is expected to provide users with more options.
