Unlike the old website, the new site has high digital pictures of the activities of the ministry appearing in flashes.
The site makes access to vital information easier and user friendly by displaying links to important items at a glance like ICT policies, News and Events, FMCT projects, Infrastructure initiatives, Local content initiatives and e-government initiatives, among others.
The new site is now embedded with a video to incorporate multimedia content on the platform which also features scrolling tweets that make for instant feedback.
The Ministry of Communication Technology was created by the administration of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to foster a knowledge based economy and information society in Nigeria.
It has key mandates of facilitating ICT as a key tool in the transformation agenda for Nigeria in the areas of job creation, economic growth and transparency of governance.
