Lagos. February 25, 2013: Charles Davies, Chief Operating Executive of new-entrant e-commerce company, computervillage.me says he is pursuing an ambition to help bring sanity through e-commerce to the nation’s largest computer and allied products market, Computer Village located in Ikeja, Lagos State.
Davies who made this known in Lagos in an interview with Technology Times says his passion to ensure that consumers get genuine gadgets at the best prices led to the formation of the company.
Davies, a trained medical doctor in his 20s says that just as his passion to save lives made him to seek a career in medicine so also is the desire to enrich gadget consumers’ experience through prompt and delivery of original computers and allied products.
This spurred him to use web technology to create the first e-portal that serves the largest computer market in the country, according to him.
“What inspired the idea was the needless stress consumers go through shopping for genuine gadgets in Computer Village. We therefore leveraged on these problems to build a business so that people don’t have to undergo the stress of scouting through the entire unorganised market without the desired results. We take these products to consumers’ door step in Nigeria at lowest prices”, Davies says.
The concept which was initially greeted with mix feelings by some people and outright skeptic is now enjoying big tractions from satisfied customers who were referring the company’s services to other prospective customers, the computervillage.me executive says.
According to him, his company’s ability to deliver gadgets within 24 hours in Lagos and 48 hours outside Lagos makes it the fastest among rival players in the emerging sector.
Explaining how the model works, he says that customers are at liberty of using Interswitch enabled cards to make orders or pay into the company’s bank account.
When asked about the integrity of the system, he responded by saying that the company was tested and proved before being launched saying he got endorsement from GTBank and DHL as strategic partners.
