The Digital Bridge Institute (DBI) plans to bridge the gap between trainees and the digital market in the Nigerian telecoms sector, according to Mr Daser David, CEO of the institute.

During a recent meeting with Dr. Vincent Olatunji, the National Commissioner and CEO of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC), the DBI CEO outlined the institute’s mission to upskill Nigerians and connect them with opportunities in the tech industry.
“Mr David provided an overview of DBI, an institute established to address the upskilling needs of Nigerians for tech positions in the telecom sector. He noted that DBI is set to repurpose and redefine its goals, serving as a bridge connecting trainees to the digital market,” according to a statement by NDPC
David said that DBI aims to repurpose and redefine its objectives to better align with market needs, highlighting the institute’s facilities in all six geopolitical zones of Nigeria, which offer a variety of courses and certifications tailored to industry demands.
Olatunji commended David for his significant contributions to Nigeria’s digital ecosystem and his role on the General Application and Implementation Directive committee. He emphasized the importance of collaboration among agencies, stating, “no agency can work in isolation.”
While wishing the DBI CEO success in his new role, Olatunji noted that the visit aligns with the NDPC’s strategic roadmap, particularly in human capital development, training, and technology collaboration. He also provided insights into the NDPC’s data protection certification process, which aims to produce globally competitive experts in Nigeria.
NDPC underscored that the meeting concluded with discussions on potential areas of partnership, with Olatunji accepting DBI’s offer for collaboration to advance Nigeria’s digital skills and capabilities.
