President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced the establishment of an AI-powered National Women’s Health Digital Hub designed to deliver geo-targeted campaigns on maternal survival, adolescent health, preventive care, and workforce strengthening across Nigeria.
Speaking at the launch of the RenewHER programme, Vice President Kashim Shettima, who represented the President, says the hub will connect women and families with trusted health information, while linking healthcare to entrepreneurship and national prosperity.
President Tinubu describes RenewHER as the national engine of collaboration among stakeholders driving the campaign for a healthier Nigeria.

“There is no greater test of a nation’s character,” Tinubu says, “than the care it extends to its women. Maternal health is the heartbeat of every family, the compass of social stability, and the truest index of national welfare.”

He underscores maternal mortality as a national concern, calling it “a shame against which everyone must rally.” According to him, “every girl-child is owed not just the eloquent promise of a better tomorrow, but the certainty of a healthier one.”
RenewHER structure
The RenewHER initiative introduces a Presidential Focal Office on Women’s Health, which will work closely with:
- The Federal Ministry of Health,
- The State-Wide Approach Coordination Office (SWAp),
- The Ministry of Women Affairs, and
- The Governors’ Spouses Forum.
The coordinated approach, government officials says, is expected to ensure women’s health priorities are embedded at national, state, and community levels.
Ms. Beatrice Eyong, United Nations Women Country Representative for Nigeria, welcomes the hub as a bold and transformative step.
According to her, “the federal government is giving a new narrative where women’s health is recognized as a driver of socio-economic growth.”
President Tinubu further notes that RenewHER, with its AI-driven hub at the centre, will complement ongoing national initiatives such as MAMII, while aligning with programmes of international development partners.
