Stanbic IBTC says its Digital Skills Empowerment Programme (DiSEP) 4.0 offering free digital skills training seeks to empower Nigerians.
This was according to an announcement on the bank’s website where qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.

“This is an initiative to train eligible candidates with digital skills to build their capabilities and broaden their digital scope which will give them an edge in the employment market,” the bank stated.
Under the plan, DiSEP will offer a chance for young people who are driven, to acquire the necessary skills for building a fast-paced career. According to the bank, “DiSEP is an intensive programme and a unique opportunity for young people who are resourceful and passionate to develop required skills to build a fast-tracked career.”
The training programme, according to the bank, will provide excellent training, upskilling, and paid certifications, at no cost to the participants.
Stanbic explained that the programme was designed to address the existing gap in the digital market and to position candidates for the bank’s digital transformation journey.
“The Digital Skills Empowerment Programme (DiSEP) is designed to aid the identification and attraction of unique digitally-savvy candidates, train, develop and position them to be able to participate in supporting the digital transformation journey of Stanbic IBTC Group and also help bridge the gap of digital talent scarcity in the employment market,” the bank noted.

Previous participants, Stanbic IBTC said, attested to the positive impact of the programme on their careers. Joseph Awe, an MS Azure Database Administrator, said that, “the programme gave me a leap into the future of the digital world, specifically in organising data management systems. Cloud databases are revolutionary, making businesses better, more efficient, and far more flexible by storing files remotely, and using advanced security features amongst other benefits.”
Cynthia Ani, now a certified Applied AI professional, said “Through the DiSEP programme, I’ve been able to understand that AI cognitive computing systems differ from conventional computing systems in that they can; read and interpret unstructured data, understanding not just the meaning of words but also the intent and context in which they are used.”

DiSEP 4.0: How to apply
Stanbic IBTC advises Nigerians interested in the programme to meet the following criteria:
Have an interest in building a career in Kubernetes, .NET Core, C#, Software Testing and Automation, DevOps, and Java.
Hold a minimum of Second Class Lower degree in ICT or Engineering related field from an accredited university.
Have a minimum of five credits, including Mathematics and English, in GCE, NECO, or other relevant O’level certificate examinations.
Have completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and possess a certificate.
Clearly state their Date of birth, Gender and class of degree.
Be not more than 28 years old at the time of application.
Candidates who meet these requirements and are shortlisted will be required to pass an online pre-training assessment. Successful candidates will then have the opportunity to prepare for and complete professional certifications, Stanbic IBTC said.
