DSTV has launched the Africa News Network7 (ANN7) on channel 405 which the digital satellite TV service owned by South Africa’s MultiChoice said is aimed at focusing on constructive stories in the interests of building an African culture of unity and pride.
According to DSTV, the channel will only be available to subscribers on Family, Compact, Compact Plus (where available) and Premium bouquets.
The channel will play host to a lot of African programmes that will be cordinated by sharp, young journalists and experienced editors so as to give a fresh perspective to TV viewers, the TV said. The line-up of programmes includes Morning Prime, Express Lunch and Shape Your Life.
According to the company, ”the channel will have dedicated teams for the different segments ranging from politics, to business, sports and entertainment news.”
ANN7 will be part of an array of news channels currently available on DStv, which include the recently launched SABC 24-Hour News Channel, CNBC Africa, eNCA, Al Jazeera, CNN, BBC, Sky News and Bloomberg.
Since its inception in 1995, DSTV has been known for providing various bouquets offering General Entertainment, Movies, Lifestyle & Culture, Sport, Documentaries, News & Commerce, Children, Music, Religion and Consumer channels to MultiChoice subscribers.
