The Ekiti State Government says it has launched the MSME ICT Skill Acquisition Hub to equip young residents with globally-relevant technology skills.

The Ekiti State Government says it has launched the MSME ICT Skill Acquisition Hub to equip young residents with globally-relevant technology skills.

This programme, developed in collaboration with Wakocode Technologies, aims to foster digital transformation and create job opportunities for youths in the state.

The Ekiti State MSME ICT Skill Acquisition Hub is focused on providing hands-on training in areas critical to success in today’s digital economy. These skills include Full Stack Development, Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity, Backend Development, and Data Analytics.

The initiative is designed to empower youths aged 18-35, regardless of their academic background, provided they demonstrate a willingness to learn and work remotely from Ekiti State, according to Mrs. Omotayo Adeola, Ekiti State Commissioner for Trade, Industry, Investment and Cooperatives.

Commissioner: Ekiti State ICT Hub to offer tech skills for youth to compete for local and international jobs

The initiative is designed to empower youths aged 18-35, regardless of their academic background, provided they demonstrate a willingness to learn and work remotely from Ekiti State, according to Mrs. Omotayo Adeola, Ekiti State Commissioner for Trade, Industry, Investment and Cooperatives.

The Commissioner explains that the programme is a collaboration between the State Ministry and Wakocode Technologies planned to equip young people with in-demand ICT skills that are essential for competing in both local and international job markets

Wakocode Technologies, a key partner in this initiative, brings its expertise in technology training and development to the programme. This collaboration ensures that the training curriculum is aligned with industry standards and that participants receive relevant, practical skills that are immediately applicable in the workforce.

The MSME ICT Skill Acquisition Hub is open to unemployed youths aged 18-35 in Ekiti State, regardless of their academic background.
