MainOne, an indigenous telecoms service and network solutions provider wants Ghana’s oil sector to embrace innovation to remain competitive in global market
Michael Kwamena-Poh, Sales Manager, Main one gave this advice at the 7th Ghana Oil and Gas Summit in Accra with special focus on importance of technology in driving down costs and optimizing operational efficiency.
Kwamena-Poh said “with plunging oil prices and shrinking corporate budgets, energy players cannot afford to remain the same. Oil and gas companies must learn how to gain operational efficiencies through improved use of technology in both downstream and upstream operations.”
He stated that “technology offers a robust platform to give oil and gas players’ better return on investment through cheaper and predictable OPEX costs.”
Kwamena-Poh canvassed for the adoption of technology solutions including Data Center, co-location, Cloud solutions and advanced Connectivity offerings, which he said will help businesses achieve operational efficiency during this challenging period.
The summit was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum and the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), among others, provided MainOne the platform to share views with critical stakeholders including government representatives, GNPC management, and local and industry leaders on issues facing the industry.
