Matthew Willsher, the Acting CEO of Etisalat Nigeria, has announced a 13 per cent growth in commercial performance for the mobile phone company in first quarter of the year while also betting improvements in the months ahead.[blockquote right=”pull-right” cite=”Matthew Willsher, the Acting CEO of Etisalat Nigeria”]“Our record breaking monthly subscriber additions and revenues reflect the loyalty of our existing subscribers and attraction to new customers. We will place an increased focus on delivering the best products and services to our customers while leveraging our strengths in innovation, quality and customer focus.”[/blockquote]
The mobile phone operator has about 19 million subscribers as of the end of January 2014 representing 14 percent of the total mobile phone users in Nigeria, the company said.
Etisalat Nigeria currently ranks number four by subscriber numbers among the ‘Big Four’ of MTN Nigeria, Airtel Nigeria and Globacom.
“We started the year on a good note with sales in Q1 2014 leaping to an all-time high. We expect the next quarter to be even better,” Willsher said.
Willsher attributed the success of this milestone to the loyalty of its subscribers and the incessant innovation from the company to improve on the quality of service
“Our record breaking monthly subscriber additions and revenues reflect the loyalty of our existing subscribers and attraction to new customers. We will place an increased focus on delivering the best products and services to our customers while leveraging our strengths in innovation, quality and customer focus.”
Willsher however commented on the recent retrenchment of 74 employees said the company has zero tolerance for indiscipline and nonchalant attitude from its employees
“Etisalat remains fully committed to executing its business strategies with the help of a high-performing team of dedicated, hardworking employees. This is a strategic business decision as we continue to match our structure and quality of delivery with our customers’ expectations which is what makes customers happy and our business successful,” he said.
