Miss Oluwaseun Olotu, a National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) member has received a cash prize of N250, 000 for developing an account reconciliation software.
Olotu who served in the Finance Management and Control (FMC) Department of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) received the cash prize for successfully developing a software fully dedicated to account department of both SMEs and corporates.
Dr. Vincent Olatunji, acting Director General of the nation’s IT implementing agency, NITDA, issued the cash to her at an event organised to recognise and celebrate the Employee of the month, an initiative by the acting DG to reward and motivate hardworking members of staff.
It was indeed a day of overwhelming joy as Olotu, the Corp member who is a graduate of Novena University in Delta State also received free incubation training at the Office for ICT Innovation and Entrepreneurship in addition to the cash reward.

The Acting DG commended Olotu’s effort in developing the accounting software for resolving issues of account statements reconciliation saying that her passion towards the development of the software was not hindered by the fact that she was a Corp member.
Olatunji directed the Coordinator of the Office for ICT Innovation and Entrepreneurship (OIIE) to assist the Corp member in enabling the development of the software to be a success, adding that this would aid job creation which is one of the core mandate of the present administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Other Corp members should always make their impact felt in their various departments by taking up responsibilities and proffer solution to challenges, Olatunii adds while stating that he is open to receive new ideas that will pave way for the development of ICT and the achievement of the NITDA’s mandate.
Mr. Ibrahim Ude, Ag. Director of the Department also commended the Corp member for her effort during her service year in finding a solution to the challenge faced by the Department.
In her remarks, Olotu appreciated the privilege given to her by the Acting Director General of the agency to showcase her ability in developing Software that will help in solving the problem at hand.
She urged NITDA to always provide such opportunity and encouragement to other Corp members who are willing to embark on such ventures.
