Dr Eugene Ikemefuna Junah, Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has written President Goodluck Jonathan to seek a second term as boss of Nigeria’s influential telecoms industry regulator.
Technology Times confirmed exclusively in Abuja that Juwah, who was appointed July 29th, 2010 is seeking another five-year term as boss of NCC ahead of the expiration of his term by July, this year.
His renewed bid for the leadership of the agency that oversees the telecoms industry in Nigeria is also backed by the agency’s enabling law which allows occupier of the office two terms.
People conversant with situations in the NCC Abuja Headquaters, who spoke anonymously with Technology Times cited that says the letter seeking tenure renewal signed by Juwah was sent through the Dr Omobola Johnson, the Minister of Communication Technology.
Juwah was nominated Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Communications Commission by President Ebele Jonathan and confirmed by the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on the 29th of July, 2010.
