The Lagos State Government will be investing in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to improve the operational efficiency of the government.
This was disclosed yesterday by Mr. Babatunde Fashola, the Governor of Lagos State at the year 2015 budget presentation at the chambers of the Lagos State House of Assembly.
The governor noted that investment in ICT will enable the government to serve Lagos residents quicker and better. He also disclosed that the State is expanding its broadband connectivity capacity, adopting cloud services for storage of critical data and strengthening its data recovery capacities for easier and faster data recovery in the event of system crash.
According to him, “in order to increase our operational efficiency, we will invest in technology and in particular information and communication technology to enable us serve you quicker and better. We are expanding our broadband connectivity capacity, taking up cloud services for storage of critical data, and also strengthening our data recovery capacities that will enable us restore services in the shortest possible time in the event of a system crash.”
He also informed the assembly that the government is intensifying the training the State’s civil service in the use of Oracle technology to reduce the cost of doing government business.
