“Our nation’s border security, border governance, and border control capabilities have just gotten better,” the Minister stated.

“Through leveraging cutting-edge technology and strategic partnerships, our government, under the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, remains committed to safeguarding Nigeria’s borders,” he added, assuring Nigerians of the current administration’s commitment towards ensuring adequate security across all borders in the country.

The Minister emphasised that the newly-inducted officers are fully equipped with the skills and expertise they need. He also noted that the state-of-the-art Command and Control Centre facility, needed for the officers to perform their tasks effectively is now completed.

According to Tunji-Ojo, “We, Nigeria, join an elite list of countries whose immigration officers can conduct 24/7 monitoring with real-time surveillance of the land, maritime, and air borders.”

He went on to stress the importance of having this technology in the Nigerian Immigration Service, explaining that it provides the country with global integration that will enable seamless collaboration with Interpol and other international security agencies.

The Interior Minister commended the Nigeria Immigration Service for its achievements in protecting the nation’s borders, expressing his hope that all agencies under the Ministry of Interior will reach greater heights under his leadership.
