The Federal Government has said it will use new technology inputs for the agricultural sector to boost food production in the country.
Ita Okon Bassey Ewa, the Minister of Science and Technology, who dropped this hint when he received a delegation from the African Agricultural Technology Foundation (AATF), Kenya.
The team led by Denis Kyetere met the Minister in Abuja where Ewa said that the Ministry’s agencies have partnered with the agricultural sector over the years.
According to him, “except technological inputs are injected into the agricultural sector, we will continue to suffer post-harvest losses and setbacks in our efforts to eradicate hunger.”
Ewa added that the Ministry is working to improve the content and quality of bio-technology in Nigeria to improve soil structure and soil fertility.
Kyetere expressed appreciation of the foundation for the support offered by the Ministry in sustaining the activities of the body over the years.
