The Federal Government is launching a new wave of innovation in social welfare with the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP), a digital platform designed to transform service delivery by tracking, analysing, and managing beneficiary data in real-time.
GEEP, the flagship intervention under the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA), is forming a core part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aiming to drive financial inclusion and provide sustainable economic opportunities for Nigeria’s most underserved groups—petty traders, artisans, smallholder farmers, women, and youth.

According to NSIPA, initiatives such as TraderMoni, MarketMoni, and FarmerMoni under the GEEP umbrella, have already impacted millions of Nigerians by providing access to micro-capital, helping grow small businesses and stimulate local economies.
GEEP: Lawal says digital innovation is shaping FG’s poverty eradication goals
Dr. Badamasi Lawal, National Coordinator and Chief Executive Officer of NSIPA, says that the GEEP Dashboard is emerging as a strategic tool in reshaping how the government monitors social intervention outcomes.
Speaking at a three-day capacity-building workshop held at the Federal Secretariat in Abuja, he urges staff to embrace the digital transformation championed by GEEP.
“Central to the digital transformation is the GEEP Dashboard. It is a powerful platform designed to track, analyse, and manage beneficiary data in real-time,” Lawal says. “Your engagement in this training is vital. I urge you to approach this programme with curiosity and commitment, embracing new ways of working.”
Themed “Improving Beneficiary Outcomes with Digital Solutions,” the workshop is targeting NSIPA staff involved in the rollout and management of GEEP to strengthen their capacity in leveraging data and digital tools.
GEEP Dashboard building transparency and digital excellence
Mrs. Ifeoma Chukwumbah, Acting Head of GEEP, is highlighting how the platform is not only helping improve efficiency but also enhancing transparency in social programme delivery. She is explains that GEEP is going beyond its reputation for disbursing microloans to create a more accountable and responsive ecosystem through technology.
“This training reflects our commitment to utilising data and digital tools to better serve our beneficiaries,” Chukwumbah says. “The training will build our digital capacity, equipping us to deliver, monitor, and evaluate our interventions more effectively.”
According to her, GEEP is evolving beyond statistics and disbursement dashboards to become a real-time, data-driven engine for social inclusion. She emphasises the importance of this evolution in ensuring that every kobo spent is traceable, impactful, and aligned with national development priorities.
FG’s Renewed Hope Agenda driving inclusive tech innovation
The GEEP training and digital transformation initiative is aligning closely with the Federal Government’s 8-point agenda, especially its pillar to implement effective social welfare interventions that reduce poverty and improve livelihoods. As part of this strategic direction, GEEP is building systems that ensure lasting outcomes rather than temporary fixes.
According to NSIPA, initiatives such as TraderMoni, MarketMoni, and FarmerMoni under the GEEP umbrella, have already impacted millions of Nigerians by providing access to micro-capital, helping grow small businesses and stimulate local economies.
Now, with the GEEP Dashboard, the government is taking a decisive step towards ensuring that every intervention is tracked, accountable, and measurable, and that the nation’s poorest and most vulnerable are not just included but empowered in Nigeria’s digital and economic future, NSIPA adds.
According to the agency, by weaving digital innovation into the fabric of social welfare, GEEP is showing how technology is not just a tool, but a catalyst for transformation—serving as a beacon of hope in the government’s fight against poverty.
