MTN says Ouattara will work with Ng’ambi for a few months to ensure a seamless transition.
Ng’ambi brings over 15 years of telecoms experience to the role. In a statement, MTN highlights her track record of driving growth and innovation, including her leadership at MTN Cameroon, where she chaired the board of Mobile Money Corporation, the company’s fintech arm in Cameroon. Previously, she led MTN Rwanda, securing key operating licenses and overseeing the company’s listing on the Rwanda Stock Exchange
Another leadership change is Wanda Matandela, MTN South Africa’s Chief Commercial Operations Officer, who will step into Ng’ambi’s role as CEO of MTN Cameroon, also effective March 1, 2025. MTN describes Matandela as a seasoned leader with over 20 years of experience in telecoms, financial services, and consumer goods.
