Google Messages has rolled out a feature that allows users to edit their sent messages within a 15-minute window, an update which Google claims will enhance communication for users.
Google said the the update is to enhance communication by enabling users to correct typos, add missing words, or clarify their messages after they’ve been sent. By simply tapping and holding a sent RCS message, users can make the necessary changes, ensuring more accurate and effective communication, the technology company said.
This new 15-minute editing window, Google said, is part of a broader set of updates designed to improve user experience and connectivity across its ecosystem. Other notable features include Instant Hotspot, which enables Android tablets and Chromebooks to connect to phone hotspots with a single tap, eliminating the need for passwords.
Additionally, Google Meet users will soon benefit from a seamless device-switching capability, allowing them to move their calls between an Android phone, tablet, or web browser without interruption.
Google is also expanding its Emoji Kitchen feature with new sticker combinations and enhancing smart home management with the Google Home Favorites widget and Wear OS smartwatch integration. Additionally, Google Wallet on Wear OS now supports PayPal payments in the U.S. and Germany, and the digital car key feature is expanding to more car models.
Google said these updates reflect its commitment to providing users with more control, convenience, and flexibility in their daily digital interactions.
