The Google Pixel 5a 5G, the third member of Google’s Pixel “a” smartphone series, now places keener emphasis on battery life.
Though similar to the Pixel 4a 5G in size, appearance, and specifications, the Google Pixel 5a emphasizes battery life and water resistance. It also shares the same chipset, RAM, and layout as its predecessor.
While it now sports a higher battery capacity, the Google Pixel 5a’s key selling point is its camera features, which it shares in common with the Google Pixel family of smartphones and is so far the most expensive of the “a” series.
Google Pixel 5a comes in just one colour, and that is what its maker calls Mostly Black. They built it with Glass front (Gorilla Glass 3), an aluminum frame, and an aluminum back body.
While makers of the Google Pixel 5a released the smartphone on August 26, 2021, its price still ranges from N250,000 to N310,000, depending on the source you choose to buy from.
The Google Pixel 5a 5G smartphone uses Nano-SIM and/or eSIM with an IP67 dust/water resistant (up to 1m for 30 mins) body.
This smartphone uses an Adreno 620 GPU and also uses Octa-core (1×2.4 GHz Kryo 475 Prime & 1×2.2 GHz Kryo 475 Gold & 6×1.8 GHz Kryo 475 Silver) CPU.
On the Google Pixel 5a 5G, you will surely get services like WLAN (Wi-Fi), Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C 3.1, but no radio.
Its battery is a non-removable Li-Po 4680 mAh battery with fast charging 18W and USB power delivery 2.0.
Its selfie camera has 1080p@30fps video with an Auto-HDR feature, while the main cameras have LED flash, Pixel Shift, Auto-HDR, and panorama features with 4K@30/60fps, 1080p@30/60/120/240fps; gyro-EIS video.
There are no options for storage capacity made available by the makers of the Google Pixel 5a 5G, and neither is there any slot for a microSDXC card. Users interested in expanding their storage capacity can not do so on this smartphone. You either settle for the 128GB, 6GB RAM storage or not.
The Google Pixel 5a comes in a box with a picture of the smartphone right on top. In this box, you’ll find a USB-C to C charging cable, an 18W USB-C charger, and a USB-C to USB-A adapter (Quick Switch Adapter) to help you transfer data from another phone to the Pixel 5a with the device lying face-down and wrapped up in plastic.
