Google claims the Pixel 9a has the best battery life of any Pixel yet, delivering over 30 hours of use on a single charge and up to 100 hours with Extreme Battery Saver.

According to Google, the Pixel 9a, priced at ₦748,500, delivers flagship-level features, including enhanced camera tools, a brighter display, and up to 100 hours of battery life with Extreme Battery Saver.

“Pixel 9a comes with everything you expect from our Pixel 9 series — complete with a sleek redesign, upgraded main camera, and Gemini built in,” Google says in a company statement.

Google Pixel 9a: AI-powered photography takes centre stage

Google is doubling down on AI-driven photography with the Pixel 9a, introducing features that make capturing the perfect shot easier than ever.
• Add Me ensures everyone is in the group photo, even the photographer, by combining multiple shots.
• Best Take lets users swap facial expressions from different photos to create the best possible group picture.
• Magic Editor with Auto Frame suggests better crops, expands images, and allows users to reimagine their photos by changing backgrounds, lighting, or seasons.
• Magic Eraser, Audio Magic Eraser, Night Sight, and Panorama with Night Sight bring additional pro-level editing tools to the Pixel 9a.

A refreshed design with the brightest A-series display yet

The 6.3-inch Actua display is the brightest ever on a Pixel A-series, boasting 2,700 nits of peak brightness a 35% improvement over the Pixel 8a. The 120Hz adaptive refresh rate ensures smoother scrolling and a more responsive experience.

Pixel 9a debuts a sleek, flat design with rounded edges and is available in four colours: Peony, Iris, Porcelain, and Obsidian.

Unmatched battery life and durability

Google claims the Pixel 9a has the best battery life of any Pixel yet, delivering over 30 hours of use on a single charge and up to 100 hours with Extreme Battery Saver.

With an IP68 rating, the Pixel 9a is also the most durable A-series Pixel ever, offering protection against water, dust, spills, and drops.

AI smarts and seven years of updates

Powered by the Tensor G4 chip, the Pixel 9a brings Google’s latest AI-driven experiences, including:
• Gemini Live, which enables natural conversations with AI, helping users brainstorm, practice speeches, or get real-time assistance.
• Coming soon: Gemini Advanced users will be able to use video and screen sharing, allowing AI to provide insights on what’s on the screen or in the surroundings.

Google is also committing to seven years of Operating System security, and Pixel Drop updates, ensuring long-term software support.

Enhanced security and family-friendly features

The Pixel 9a inherits the Pixel 9’s top-rated security features, including:
• Car Crash Detection and Theft Protection for emergency situations.
• A built-in VPN by Google at no extra cost.
• Find My Device with real-time location sharing.

For families, Google Family Link provides screen time controls, app download approvals, and location tracking. A new Google Wallet for kids, (launching in select countries), enables safer digital payments with parental controls.
