The GSM Association (GSMA), a global association of mobile operators has announce plans to organise ‘Women4Tech’ conference to address the persistent gender gap in the mobile industry.
GSMA says the Women4Tech conference will focus on increasing the inclusion of women in the mobile industry as well as showcasing best practices and industry action for female leadership in the digital age.
According to the mobile industry pressure group,the conference will comprise series of events and activities which will take place during the Mobile World Congress scheduled for 27 February – 2 March 2017 in Barcelona.

The Summit will explore four key themes which include:
–Women Empowering Technology: This looks at gender equality and career development.
–Women Encouraging Technology: This focuses on mentoring and youth education.
–Women Transforming Technology: This focuses on women in communication and vertical sectors.
-Women Innovating in Technology: This examines women as entrepreneurs and innovators.
Beyond the Women4Tech conference which will be sponsored by Accenture, GSMA says the Women4Tech conference includes activities such as Women4Tech Speed Coaching and Networking sessions; the Women4Tech Glomo Awards for “Outstanding Achievement in Mobile Industry Leadership”; specialised MWC Tours; a Women4Tech panel on Mobile World Live TV; and Women4Tech initiatives at 4YFN.
