iAcademy, the company disclosed, has trained 30 youths and have a budget to train 75-100 people this year. The academy focuses on empowering young Africans with the skills required to support global solutions from companies like IBM and Oracle. Presently, they have eight Nigerians undergoing training abroad to become the providers of such solutions. The core focus is on building competencies and skills for IT managed services, making businesses more efficient and cost-effective.

Founded in 2004 and officially commencing operations in January 2024, Heirs Technologies has positioned itself as a forward-thinking technology company with three core business areas: IT Consulting, Managed Services, and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO).

According to the MD/CEO, Obong Idiong, Heirs Technologies adopts a people-centric and customer-focused approach. The technology company aims to provide value beyond transactions by addressing clients’ challenges with specific, tailored solutions.

Heirs Technologies: The three core operations pillars

IT Operations: This division, the technology company said, provides comprehensive IT infrastructure management solutions, encompassing IT monitoring, network management, data analytics, and cloud services.

Managed Services: Going beyond operations, Heirs Technologies positions itself as a trusted advisor, offering clients customised IT solutions to optimise their operations.

Business Process Outsourcing (BPO): Heirs Technologies offers a comprehensive suite of BPO services, including IT talent outsourcing, business process optimization, and technical support services. During the parley, the company revealed that they handle payroll and outsource for businesses, supporting outsourcing processes within the continent in a more cost-effective manner.

iAcademy: Heirs Technologies’ Talent Pipeline

A central pillar of Heirs Technologies’ strategy is nurturing the next generation of Africa’s tech talent. Their training institute, iAcademy, described by Dr. Chima as their “heart and soul,” offers programmes designed to equip young Nigerians with the necessary skills to excel in the tech industry.

Speaking on the successes of the previous set, the programme ran for 9 months. 27 individuals graduated, and out of these, five are currently in China, working with clients outside of UBA. All the trained youths have secured full employment, showcasing the effectiveness of the academy’s training programmes.

Regarding challenges, Anant Rao, acknowledged potential obstacles ahead, one of which is overcoming resistance to change within some organisations. He stated that the biggest challenge will be the reluctance of companies to evolve their processes seen as a change management process.

Heirs Technologies also revealed a commitment to data security and protection. With data breaches becoming a major concern globally for data subjects, data controllers, and processors,

Obong Idiong, CEO of the technology company, disclosed that Heirs Technologies has taken proactive measures. This includes rigorous quality control processes and monthly staff training on risk and regulatory perspectives. Trust was highlighted as a core value, with the company implementing strict data protection measures to safeguard sensitive information and maintain customer trust.
