Nigeria: Three simple online steps to verify your vehicle’s plate number

The federal agency charged with the responsibility of issuing vehicle plate number, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), has made it easy for vehicle owners in Nigeria to verify the authenticity of vehicle plate numbers.

FRSC, which issues plate numbers says that Nigerian can now verify through a dedicated website.

This helps Nigerian vehicle owners avoid falling victim of vehicle plate number racketeers.

To verify your plate number, follow these steps:

(1) Go to www.nvisng.org/numberplateverification.aspx
(2) Enter your number in the space provided. For instance, ABC123AB.
(3) Click on verify button.

The name of your car and the date of registration will be displayed afterwards.
