HyperCharge: Inside Xiaomi’s tech that charges your phone in 8 minutes

Phone and accessories maker, Xiaomi has been at the vanguard in developing new charging tech and appears not to have relented with the HyperCharge.

This time, the company has introduced what is a milestone in the smartphone charging space with the fastest 200W wired and 120W wireless charging.

HyperCharge is what Xiaomi calls the latest solution, same name its offshoot Black Shark calls its charging tech.

The Xiaomi 200W HyperCharge tech can top up a 4,000mAh battery to 100% in just eight minutes, while the new 120W HyperCharge variant delivers a full charge in only 15 minutes, according to the tech company.

The Xiaomi 200W HyperCharge tech can top up a 4,000mAh battery to 100% in just eight minutes, while the new 120W HyperCharge variant delivers a full charge in only 15 minutes, according to the tech company.

The company shared a video of how HyperCharge works on a custom build of the Mi 11 Pro. Interestingly, the phone reaches 50% capacity in just three minutes, going all the way up to 100% in a few seconds under eight minutes. In the video also, the Mi 11 Pro wirelessly charged at 120W speed, reaching a 10% charge in just a minute and 50% in seven minutes.

Xiaomi, however, did not disclose when it will implement its new 200W wired and 120W wireless HyperCharge tech on actual phones.
