The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) says it has initiated a collaboration with the Content Creators and Social Media Influencers Association to promote anti-corruption awareness using digital media platforms.
The development followed a meeting held at the ICPC Borno State office in Maiduguri, where members of the association paid a courtesy visit to the Commission, the government agency says in a statement seen by Technology Times.
According to the ICPC, the visit reflects a shared commitment to support ongoing efforts to promote integrity and discourage corrupt practices through public engagement.

He called on members of the association to use platforms including Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok, YouTube and WhatsApp to disseminate the Commission’s messages.
ICPC: Social media platforms reach large audiences
Linus Gubbi, Resident Anti-Corruption Commissioner (RACC), says social media platforms provide an opportunity to reach large audiences and influence public attitudes, while welcoming the delegation.
He called on members of the association to use platforms including Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok, YouTube and WhatsApp to disseminate the Commission’s messages.
Gubbi also urges the content creators to translate anti-corruption messages into local languages and develop content that reflects local contexts to improve accessibility and understanding.
The commission encourages the use of formats such as short videos, skits and animations to communicate the impact of corruption and to inform the public on how to report corrupt practices through official ICPC channels.
The RACC says the Commission plans to organise seminars and capacity-building sessions for members of the association to support the collaboration and provide updates on its activities.
Responding, Williams Sunday, Chairman of the Borno State chapter of the association, expresses appreciation for the engagement and says members are ready to support the institution’s mandate.
The association, Sunday says, would use its platforms to produce content aimed at educating the public and discouraging corrupt practices.
The Commission says the meeting ended with both parties expressing commitment to work together in promoting anti-corruption awareness through digital media.
